About J&J Oilfield Services – Zedi Field Operations

J&J Oilfield Services has three production and operations supervisors on staff who act as trouble shooters to assist the operators with problems and look after facility and well issues. Also on staff is a full time safety and Environment foreman; in keeping with our commitment to both, and future development of our procedures and safety program. J&J is COR certified with three audits completed and each year seeing improvement.

Currently, J&J’s operations are based in Fort St John, B.C. and Grande Prairie, Alberta. We have seven remote campsites throughout the Peace River area, ranging from Fort St John to Red Eye, up the Alaska highway to mile 185, Laprise, south to Chetwynd, and into the Kakwa and Smokey River areas down the forestry trunk road in Grande Prairie.

J&J also acts as area foreman on behalf of oil and gas companies who do not have the need for a full time employee foreman. This takes the local workload off of the Calgary based supervisor, enabling them to concentrate on “bigger” issues. We handle the day to day operations as well as projects for these companies. One of the production supervisors will be assigned as the point of contact, but all supervisors and myself are kept up to date of the daily operation.

“I am confident J&J – Zedi Field Operations will supply your company with the expertise and personnel beyond your expectations. Whether it is full service operations or temporary relief we will do our best to assist you with your production optimization management”, say Joe Ollenberger, Vice President & General Manager, Northern Operations.

History of Zedi Field Operations

J&J Oilfield Limited (J&J) started out as a maintenance and construction company supplying expertise and labor in the Zama and Rainbow Lake areas in 1983. J&J was the main contractor for Amoco, responsible for the daily maintenance of over 200 pumping wells, 40+ gas wells, the main battery and gas plant. We supervised 20 or more crews during major turnarounds, as well as field projects.

In 1989, J&J began concentrating on the Fort St John area, with the bulk of the workload being contract operating and construction supervision. From a one person operation in 1989, J&J steadily increased its position in the Fort St John oilfield to stable of over 50 employees. Growth was attained through competent and reliable recruiting as well as the implementation of a training program. Realizing the shortage of established experienced personnel in the industry, J&J joined forces with the Northern Lights College, bringing in 2-4 graduates of the Oil & Gas operators course each semester, for a two week practicum at some of our sites. We currently sit on the steering committee for the Oil & Gas Operators course, combined with the Power Engineering and Gas Processing program to help with its continued growth and to ensure that operator best practices are developed into the curriculum.

In January 2008, J&J was acquired by Zedi Inc., a production operations management company that delivers systems and services that help oil and gas producers to efficiently manage people, assets and information. This acquisition is an opportunity to unify, simplify and enhance the combined capabilities of J&J and Zedi to deliver a new level of production operations management that will positively impact your earnings and your customer experience.
